Special Seminar by Prof. Jidong Zhao (The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology)

A special seminar by Professor Jidong Zhao of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology was held at Nagoya Institute of Technology on February 2 (hosted by the seminar division of the Chubu Branch of the Japan Society of Geotechnical Engineering).
He talked about the simulation of debris flow and its countermeasures by combining the discrete element method and fluid analysis, from its principle to its application. I had a frank discussion with Prof. Zhao about his research approach, not to mention the excellence of his research, which motivated me to do research even more.
